  1. Inactive Courses - hide and prevent scheduling students into inactive classes

    For courses, hide Inactive courses by default on the Courses page. Also prevent students from being scheduled into inactive courses including in course Attendance. Currently inactive courses get a yellow ribbon.

  2. Multi-School Section that holds students from different schools.

    It'd be cool to have a section that spans across the district(since courses are already) which can hold different students from different schools in one section owned by either the homeschool of the teacher or the district.

    This way teachers who teach one section/curriculum to a group of students across the district can all be linked together for third party integration purposes.

    Another great reason is for distance learners who are across the district under specific teachers. They all have the same "class" under the same teacher but have to be from different schools and the master schedule has to…

  3. Allow Course Requests letters to have the ability to be emailed to students.

  4. Teachers - Show Co-Taught Sections on All Teacher's Schedules

    Though secondary teachers can be listed within a section, the secondary teacher's schedule does not show these courses.

  5. Master Schedule - Add Section Name

    It would be useful to us to be able to have a "Section Name" field that could display in certain places, instead of section numbers or flex period + class calendar. This would be super helpful for teachers using gradebook, especially now that Flex Scheduling makes it so much harder for students and teachers to read their schedules. and (at least for us) gradebook so often needs to have multiple sections attached to a single class.
    Also, for co-taught sections, it would be really great to have a "Teacher Display Name" field that would default to the primary teacher name,…

  6. Parent/Student Portal Class Summary - Show Days Taught

    Show the days of the week that a class section is taught in the Class Summary within the Parent/Student Portal. Also base this on Course Attendance, not the "Classes" page, since a student may change classes in the future and the Classes page updates immediately.

  7. Scheduling Course Request Tally report should display 10 grade levels

    The Scheduling Course Request Tally report displays a maximum of nine grade levels, but a TK - 8 school has ten grade levels, so the TK grade is left off the report.

  8. Master Schedule, Split Term field needs to be locked down.

    Master Schedule, Split Term (MST.DY) field needs to give a warning when changes are made and SEC/CAR records exist. Or the field should be read only like PD, BL, SM, TN and CN.

  11. Scheduling Groups

    Have scheduling groups (not the way the currently work where you have to tag EVERY student with a scheduling group) but identify a group of students that need to go into a specific section and give those students priority into that matched section and allow other students to randomly fill the remaining seats. Currently we have to manually put those students in a section and manually lock them before running the scheduler.

  12. When running with Keep/Skip, student scheduling exclusions are not honored for existing students in class.

    When running the scheduler with “keep/skip” (to balance genders for example) the scheduler does not appear to honor scheduling exclusions unless the students are scheduled at the same time.

  13. "Create Sections for Next Term" process is creating new sections for Inactive sections

    When creating Sections for next term SMS or MST, SPRING, Inactive sections are created from Fall Inactive sections. There should be an option to include or exclude inactive sections.

  14. COVID - SMS - Planning Options

    Our schools are requesting different options for SMS Scheduling that can be loaded/planned on the fly.

    Since we do not know what the future will bring, our schools need to plan in SMS for

    Plan A ( on-campus 'traditional' scheduling )
    Plan B ( on-campus limited classroom attendance 'social distancing )
    Plan C ( Distance-Learning remote-campus scheduling )
    Plan ..?

    Currently they are creating a schedule, saving it, wiping SMS and re-building or the different options.

    If there is a way to make this easier, it would be greatly appreciated.

  15. Allow "Next School" to determine course request offerings.

    Currently, course request offerings are determined by the student's current school. This does not work well in cases where the students are moving across a school grade level boundary. In casess where there is not a 1:1 relationship between feeder schools and next schools, students have to use generic course requests, if they can use them at all.

  16. Make hand scheduling easier and quicker

    In CS you could quickly click on the courses in the alternate tab and view what period it is available. Now having to go to the SMS Board and filtering it either by course ID or period is so time consuming. From a schedulers point of view .net is far less efficient than it was in CS. There are several features but this one is grueling!

  17. Improve the View of Classes in Edit mode

    It is so hard to see the results of the changes you have made unless you click Save. I find it really hard to read. I add a class from View MST and it puts it at the bottom of the list rather than in period order. t Then to compound the problem, on the SSS side, you can’t even click the sections. You are forced to use View MST -which actually is OK with me. I love View MST, but the fact that the two systems are now so different is confusing.

  19. Allow Optional Alternate Courses

    Our high schools want the Alternate Course to be an option when pre-slugged courses are perma-locked. This way parents and/or students can indicate if they want to level up or down.

  20. Scheduling Master Schedule Board report: add visual cue for Class Linked sections

    On the Flex SMS Board, a visual cue is displayed to highlight sections with Class Links. It would be nice if Class Linked sections were identified in some way on the Scheduling Master Schedule Board report. At minimum, a cell border. If the Class Link number could fit, that would be great.
